Dr. Craig S Steinberg, Esq.

Dr. Steinberg is a 1984 graduate of the University of Missouri, St. Louis, School of Optometry and a 1994 graudate of the University of La Verne College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in all state courts in California, along with the United States District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. A well-known writer and speaker, Dr. Steinberg has also served as a member of the Law and Public Health Committee of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry, and as General Counsel to the American Optometric Society, an organization he founded in 2009, and the American Board of Clinical Optometry. Dr. Steinberg also served as the legal adviser and Director of Legal Services for The PowerPractice. He is a member of the Healthcare Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the California Bar, the California Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Among his many speaking engagements, he has been a guest speaker before the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry (ARBO), the Michigan Optometric Association, and the University of Houston College of Optometry.

Recognized as one of the Country's leading experts in optometric law, Dr. Steinberg continues to practice optometry on a part-time basis at his office in Sherman Oaks, California, but spends most of his time practicing law. His legal practice focuses on healthcare and business litigation and optometric transactions. Dr. Steinberg is litigation counsel to an IPA with over 130,000 lives, a pediatric IPA, and a pediatric medical group with 12 offices around the Los Angeles area. He represents optometrists across the United States in 3rd party displine and administrative hearings, and State Board of Optometry disciplinary hearings.
